partial realization
My piece Partial Realization consists of three separate composite images made of various ink pen drawings from my sketchbook. The purpose of this project was to tell a story from my personal experiences growing up. Although the figures in this piece may resemble myself, they are more a representation of humanity. The creation process helped strengthen my connection to the Earth.
When I started producing this work, I was filled with sadness and loss because finishing this project marked the end of my artistic education. However, I’m comforted by the fact that, although this is my last project at Augsburg, it’s the first project in the long artistic career that lies ahead of me.
This piece is not meant to highlight the beauties of nature, but rather connections to the world around us. I hope the viewer comes to some realization, whatever it may be, about their own life and that their place in the world is special.
